    Powershell Commands Cannot wake Windows 11 from Screensaver


    ***********Cannot wake PC from Screensaver or sleep with a script/powershell***********I can use the C:\Windows\System32\scrnsave.scr command to activate screensaver and I have several scripts that work to get the display to come back on .... but when the computer automatically enables screensaver after 5 min ... the scripts do not work to get the display back on.I have read many articles and do a lot of troubleshooting with no solution.Command line tools do not work.Using Powershell command line I past these commands and then wait for teh display to go into screensaver mode ... the commands e

    I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if that helps.

    • Go to the folder C:\Windows\System32 and sort by file type.
    • Look for the screensaver file type (.scr).
    • Find the file scrnsave.scr(you can choose any of the screensavers).
    • Right click and select send to>desktop (create shortcut). The shortcut on my attachment, but when i click on it my screen goes off and on and nothing else.Powershell Commands Cannot wake Windows 11 from Screensaver :)

    PowerShell instead of Commandline in Creators Update

    Interestingly enough my personal laptop just got the update...and still has Command Prompt listed, not PowerShell...

    Edit: Not that it matters...I use both regularly. *Toast :toast:
