Windows 10: PowerToys changes format to HEIC

Discus and support PowerToys changes format to HEIC in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; - Installed PowerToys to Windows 11.- Took photos that were transferred from iPhone to Windows 11 and resized them.- Photos has a HEIC format but...     PowerToys changes format to HEIC


    - Installed PowerToys to Windows 11.- Took photos that were transferred from iPhone to Windows 11 and resized them.- Photos has a HEIC format but opened fine on Laptop.- Checked PowerToys settings, and Image Resizer settings but couldn't find anything to suggest that they should be changed to HEIC,Was it just a false positive? As in they are actually jpg but it says HEIC because they were transferred from an iPhone.

    If you want to keep using HEIC on your iPhone (and there seems to be good reason to do that), you'll need some third-party utility. I don't know which of them have ads and which don't. However,

    We need more information about your concern. Are you trying to convert and open other image format to HEIC? If yes, a certain program will be needed to open that kind of file, we suggest checking the Windows Store for programs that can convert other image
    format to HEIC. Make sure to download the program with the highest rating and good reviews.

    Hi Sumit, thanks for the reply.

    Your suggestion is another viewer for the .heic format, which I will go for if I need to do Batch Conversions.

    My main, rather pressing, question is more towards a blanket add-on for all other software/programmes/Apps that do already read .jpg, .png, .gif (and so on). How can .heic be added to the list of file formats for all of them? Or is that a matter of the software producer, on a one-by-one basis? Like I mentioned before, I use a 'very small' cataloguing software which incorporates photos and the programmer/software owner replied that it is a matter of Windows and not individual software.

    Am I on the right track to understand this?
