Preparing Automatic Repair and Incorrect Password

Hello! This morning I got a windows message that it needed to restart. Upon restarting it gave a "Preparing Automatic Repair" followed by "Scanning and Repairing C:..." which only appeared for about 5 seconds before showing the blue screen with the options of continue, use a device, troubleshoot, etc.Trying any option requires my Password, and for some reason it does not accept it, but I was able to log in on my phone. I did also try safe mode and safe mode with networking, but I only get the same startup from before.

    :)

Preparing Automatic Repair and Incorrect Password

    "Preparing Automatic Repair"

I updated my Toshiba Satellite laptop including the Microsoft Edge Update for Windows 10. I have the "Preparing Automatic Repair" problem.

The "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen is flashing.

I do not want to lose any of the data that I have on the laptop by restoring and reinstalling Windows 10. The laptop initially came with a Windows 7 operating system. Then, it was upgraded to Windows 8 and then Windows 10.

Can you recommend the steps to take for this specific laptop?
