Windows 10: Preparing System Repair Loop and Unable to access blue advanced options repair screen

I have an ASUS laptop and I am stuck on an indefinite loop where my computer will say preparing system repair and then bring me to a black screen where nothing will happen. I’ve tried to access the the blue startup repair screen or even safe mode but I can’t find the right hotkeys that work. I’ve tried turning it on and off 3 times, F11, F8, shift+F8, F4 and F5 and nothing works. I am able to access setup utility by holding F2 but as far as I know that won’t help me in this situation. Any help would be appreciated.

Preparing Automatic Repair/Diagnosing Your PC Loop

To resolve your concern with continuously looping your system, we suggest that you follow the Startup Repair steps below:

• Turn off your computer.
• Turn on your computer. As soon as you see the Windows logo with the spinning dots, press and hold down the power button until your computer turns off. Do this process
  twice.
• Turn on your computer for the third time, and let it load.
• It should give you the message: Preparing Automatic Repair.
• On the next screen that would appear, click on Advanced Options.
• Select Troubleshoot.
• Go to Advanced Options.
• Click on Startup Repair.
• Wait for the repair to finish.

Blue Screen (BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO) then 'Preparing Automatic Repair' loop

My fairly new Lenovo laptop running Windows 10 froze all of a sudden. After leaving it for 24 hours with no sign of fixing itself I force restarted it by holding the power button. Since then I haven't been able to use it as it first goes to a BSOD saying
'BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO' then restarts and boots saying 'Preparing Automatic Repair'. The automatic repair doesn't fix anything and gives me the option to either restart or go to Advanced options. Restarting goes back to the blue screen and the loop continues.
Going into troubleshooting, I've tried' System Restore', 'Startup Repair' and 'Reset this PC' and keeping my files, none of which have worked or fixed the problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

• Select Troubleshoot.
• Select Advanced options.
• Select Startup Repair.
