Windows 10: Preserve Windows Defender protection history so I know when Windows deletes my files

I noticed today that Windows Defender Virus and threat protection doesn't show the full history of actions and detections under "Protection history". In fact it seems like this gets cleared pretty often checking Event Viewer, it gets cleared every day!. I know for a fact that Windows Defender removed a file I downloaded yesterday, and the history now shows nothing. I now have to find and re-download that file. But at least I was able to catch it, now I'm not sure if there were other files that Windows Defender deleted without my knowledge. It is extremely annoying that now when I'm trying to

Clearing Windows Defender history

Hey, what you need to do is so simple, just follow the steps below exactly in order:

1. Turn OFF Real-time Protection
2. Turn OFF Cloud-delivered Protection
3. Go to this folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scans\History\Service
4. Delete the contents in the folder
5. Turn ON Real-time Protection
6. Turn ON Cloud-delivered Protection

That's it... Now check protection History, it's empty.
