Windows 10: Preserving original Windows 10 photo app

Hi - I was fortunate to have one Windows 10 laptop offline when the very good original photo app was blitzed by the new and worthless revamp in an update. I hoped installing the "legacy" version would be the solution but it isn't and is not a significant improvement on the intruder.I would like to know if there is any way I can prevent this original version from being overwritten so that the laptop in question can be put back online. At present all internet access is disabled purely to protect the app. I would also like to know if it is possible to reinstall it on my other W10 laptop which was

The Photos app brings together pictures from all your devices using OneDrive, so that you can browse them by date, album or folder. It also automatically enhances photos, and creates albums for you, to showcase your best shots.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest you to change the Default apps in the setting app and verify the result. You may follow the steps in the below:

• Go to settings and system.
  
• Click on Default Apps and select the appropriately.
  

Method 2:

I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

• Open the　Start　menu, type　Windows PowerShell　in the search bar.
  
• Right click on the　Windows　PowerShell　and select　Run as　administrator.
  
• Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.
  

• 　　get-appxpackage　　*Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage

Preserving Original Resolution in Photos After an Edit

How can I keep the Photos App in Windows 10 from compressing my pictures after I edit them? Photos that are around 14 MB are being reduced to 3 or 4 MB after an edit. There is no option by right clicking on the save button or in settings. Please help.
I have many high res pictures that I would like to edit, the tools are great but they need to have original resolution preserved. I even tested just be changing the brightness a small bit and a huge compression took place. Please help. Thanks so much! And...

For no reason my Windows/Microsoft Photo App quit working in Windows 10.

I have tried all of the suggestions listed here so far

with no success.

Has anyone had better luck resolving this issue?
