    I have a Win 10 Pro PC at a remote location, with Internet access only via an LTE Modem. Using Chrome Remote Desktop from home where I have wide-band Internet service , I can identify a large-file-size update KB4551762 "pending download" at the remote PC using Settings/Update&Security. I downloaded KB4551762 at home from the Microsoft catalog, put it on a thumb drive, then traveled to the remote site and successfully installed it on the PC. I would like to inhibit the "pending download" of this file at the remote site to save our data plan. Is there a way I can do this?

    Windows 10 Manual Updates Management

    I have just installed windows 10. When windows 10 is updating (and only when its updating) there is a chance the system will randomly hang/freeze.

    This is very annoying and happens often but, only when updating.

    In an attempt to avoid this problem, I have decided to manually download and install updates.

    To do so, I have to do the following.

    1. Disable Windows 10 automatic updates.
    2. While windows 10 updates are disabled find and list all the required updates (preferable with a dependency tree of some kind)
    3. Download the required updates manually.
    4. Install the required updates manually.

    I was able to figure out the steps (1) and (3) (and I'm guessing step (4) is a simple execution)

    How should I go about achieving step (2)?

    Windows updates won't install!

    I'll check that out.

    I had read that. However the problem MS is addressing there is when the update client files of the pc don't recognise that the pc is not updated and hence don't download the updates. My updates download fine. In fact I'm even getting downloaded updates which I do not need (win2000, vista, server...) The problem is getting the correct updates installed...

    For example, I'm getting KB933729 in my list. That's for Vista!

    I have a limited wifi issue. Toshiba states update KB3114149 may solve the issue. I can't determine if this update was included when I upgraded to 10586/1511 as it is not listed in Update History.

    Is there a way to manually download that update ?
