Windows 10: Prevent Employer controlled 5 minute screen lockout

My employer mandates and controls a 5 minute screen lockout on our laptops (win10). I'm fine with this and do not want to change any settings to circumvent. Actually, I cannot change some of these settings with my permissions.

I work from home regularly and it is a bother to unlock the screen after getting a cup of coffee. Prior to Win 10, I could start a video and let it play on repeat in the background. This would prevent the screen from locking. With Win10, this does not seem to work. Any suggestions for making the screen not go into lock? Thanks.

Windows 10 auto-logout on <5 minutes of inactivity

There is a screen saver setting hidden in the old Control Panel from previous versions of Windows. To get to the setting, follow the steps below:

1. Open the start menu up and search for "Control Panel"
   
2. Go to "Appearance and Personalization"
   
3. Click on "Change screen saver" underneath Personalization on the right
   
4. Under Screen saver, there is an option to wait for "x" minutes to show the log off screen (See below)
   

If you uncheck the checkbox, you should be able to prevent your computer from logging off.

While there is no way to lower the lockout wait time after a failed PIN entry, the following article may be able to help you out:

According to this article, "if you've entered the wrong PIN 5 times, the phone will be locked for 1 minute. If you enter another wrong PIN, it'll be locked for 2 minutes, then 4, then 8, and so on.

If you just aren't able to come up with the right PIN, you'll need to reset your phone. Contact your mobile operator, check their website, or look through your phone's documentation to learn how to do that."

Thanks for your response. I did follow these steps and unfortunately it didn't work. The screen doesn't switch to screen saver mode after 5 minutes, nor does the computer automatically log out.

I double checked that I did follow your instructions correctly.

What would be preventing these settings from being applied to my computer?
