Windows 10: Prevent IME from using different alphabets in different apps

I use the Japanese IME. When it is active, pressing ALT+SHIFT switches between the Latin alphabet A and hiragana . But if I am typing in hiragana and then open a different app, it will automatically switch to the last writing system used in that app or to the default Latin alphabet if the app was not opened before. How can I retain the alphabet in use when switching apps, until I change it myself? This is the default on Japanese computers with Japanese keyboards.


To be clear, I am not talking about changing languages between Japanese and English changing IMEs; I'm talking about changing the alphabet/writing system within the Japanese IME. So "settings>languages>keyboard>let me use a different input method for each app window" is not the answer I'm looking for please don't recommend this.

In addition to David Y's suggestion, you can also use OpenOffice Writer to sort a list alphabetically or numerically and its free!

Just place your text in a table and select sort from the Table menu:

App or Program That can Alphabetize a list

Hi, all. I'm looking for a program, similar to wordpad, that can put all the items listed in alphabetical order. I already have Open office installed, but there's no option that I can find in that program that has the capability I'm looking for. I've looked around on the Net, but so far haven't come up with anything. I prefer a free program because it would only be used on rare occasions. Someone on another forum suggested Alphabetizer, which I tried, but found unsatisfactory .Any suggestions? Thanks.
