Windows 10: Prevent Windows 11 File Explore from asking for password on protected Office 365 documents

Windows 11 HOME is installed along with Windows 365 subscription. On rare occasions, I want an extra layer of security and have password protected such Word or PDF documents prior to updating to Windows 11. The password protection still works on pre-Windows 11 documents when I update them (I have to save manually rather than auto save on these documents but that is not a big deal) but I cannot create any new password protected documents. Thank you for offering to help me.

 

Office 365 Open document in Word not working in Internet Explorer 11

When I open a MS Word Document in Office 365 (SharePoint Online), it opens it opens up in Word online as usual. When I click on "Open in MS Word" absolutely nothing happens. I fixed this in the Firefox browser by activating the MS Office 2013 add-on, but
can't find a solution for Internet Explorer 11. I tried changing the security settings for trusted sites in IE, but that didn't work. (Same results from computers with Windows 7 and 10). Any suggestions will be appreciated!

So far I can open files from the Recent files list when I enter Word itself, however I still am unable to open any documents using the Word icon pinned to the taskbar:
