Windows 10: Preview Pane - Displays Wrong Image

Hello,

I have searched for help but cannot find a solution, however, this person has the exact problem I have:

Basically, the preview pane stores the image related to the first file I click on and repeats that image for every other file.


Actions taken to date:

Disk cleanup. Deleted the thumbnail cache. Works for a few minutes, but soon returns to same issue.

For those like me who work extensively with photo and video files and need to review/manage daily, this is a crippling problem. PLEASE help.

Preview pane is not available while viewing the pictures

To assist you better, I would like to know the file format of the image that you would like to see in preview pane.

If the preview pane doesn’t appear, I suggest you to follow the steps and check if that helps to resolve the issue.

  Open the folder where the images are located.
  
• 
  Click on View option at the top and choose
  Preview pane.
  
• 
  Now you will be able to see the images on the Preview pane.

Video in the preview pane

Thank you so much for your reply.

What I really need to know is how get the video to play in the preview pane. Prior to Windows 10, this worked wonderfully and was an asset. Now, it requires making changes to the Windows registry - not recommended due to the enormous amount of issues with
Windows 10.

Any other suggestions?

To enable the Preview pane, open File Explorer and follow these steps:

  In the File Explorer window, click the View
  tab.
  
• 
  In the Panes section, click the Preview Pane button. The Preview pane is added to the right side of the File Explorer window.
  
• 
  Select several files one by one to preview their contents. You can preview their contents if they are text, images, or videos.
