  1. Preview Pane Images Squashed

I searched the forums and couldn't find a satisfactory answer to this issue. Some of my photos jpg files show incorrectly in the preview pane of Windows 10 Explorer. They appear squashed and because these photos were taken in portrait mode and Explorer is previewing them as landscape orientation. Looking at the property details for any of the effected files shows the correct size in pixels and if I open them and re-save them, the correct preview is created. This appears to have been an issue since 2011 and Windows 7, but those questions are locked for replies, even though no solution was fou

    :)

    Video in the preview pane

    Aileen,

Thank you so much for your reply.

What I really need to know is how get the video to play in the preview pane. Prior to Windows 10, this worked wonderfully and was an asset. Now, it requires making changes to the Windows registry - not recommended due to the enormous amount of issues with
    Windows 10.

    Any other suggestions?

To enable the Preview pane, open File Explorer and follow these steps:

      tab.

    • In the Panes section, click the Preview Pane button. The Preview pane is added to the right side of the File Explorer window.

    • Select several files one by one to preview their contents. You can preview their contents if they are text, images, or videos.
