  1. Preview Pane Not Displaying PDFs Correctly in Windows 11 - image cut off

Only for pdf, the previewed image is shifted over to the left within the pane, cutting off the left side of the document and leaving blank white space to the right. I know this is fixable because I had it happen twice last year, and I was able to find instructions online to correct it. I remember it wasn't that hard to fix, but now, I can't remember what I did back then and can't find the instructions I used before anymore.

    :)

    Blank Windows 11 Preview Pane

My Windows 11 Preview Pane is blank after a Windows 11 update. It does not even display "No preview pane available". It is totally blank. It only display jpg, ico and bmp files in the preview pane. It doesn't display Microsoft Office and pdf files. I have spent over a month googling and tried every suggestions that were posted in Google, Youtube and answers.microsoft.com, not one of the suggestions work. However when I use XYPlorer Free Edition, all the files are displayed in the XYPlorer's preview pane. The only thing that I have not done is to reinstall Windows 11 and I would not want to go through that route as it will be a hassle to reinstall apps and reconfigure my laptop again. I can't do system restore as I did not realised that it was off when doing the Windows 11 update in March 2022. Until there is a fix for the missing Preview Pane, I would have to stick to the XYPlorer Free Edition for the time being. Anyone has a fix.

Preview Pane Not Displaying PDFs Correctly in Windows 11 - image cut off

Windows Explorer Preview Pane on External Monitor for PDF preview

    Hi

I have a Surface book that has stopped displaying the PDF preview in explorer on my external monitor since the last Windows Update (Build 17134.112) in May 2018.

This is really bothering me as I use it all the time and I even run workshops demonstrating the preview pane via a Data projector so I need to fix this ASAP please.

When I preview a PDF from Windows explorer on my Surface main display the preview fills up the whole left pane but when it is on an external monitor it looks like this: (Screenshot below) - See it only fills up the top left quarter of the preview pane.

    I have tried:

    • re-installing Adobe reader DC,
    • clearing my File explorer history,
    • ticking/unticking "Show preview handlers in preview pane",
    • changing display resolutions in Windows Display settings,
    • have even done SFC /Scannow & repair,
    • manually updated the driver for Intel(R) HD Graphics 520
    • deleted/reset the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Modules\GlobalSettings\Sizer
    All to no solution!!

If I switch my external monitor to be my my Main Display in Windows Display settings it fixes the problem on my External monitor but then it is a problem on my Surface display.

Please can someone help me!! I have lost days trying to fix this.
