Windows 10: Preview Pane Reading Pane Disappeared from Microsoft Mail

Not sure if it was related, but after performing the update of my MS 365 Office apps per notice bar in MS Word this morning, the preview pane Reading Pane in Microsoft Mail has disappeared. To view contents of an email message now, I must click it, which opens a whole new window which I must close in order to see the next message in my list of emails.Please show me how to restore the Reading Pane. NOTE: I have gone to settings within Mail, and set options within the Reading Pane, but cannot find a way to restore the Reading Pane itself.Please help. Thanks in advance.

Windows 7 Preview Pane

I use the preview pane quite often so I can watch videos without having to launch an application to play them. I do this with mostly with tutorials. Most of the tutorials were in quicktime format; quicktime takes a significant amount of time to open on my system, so I used format factory to change them into MP4's (they will play in the preview pane). Just out of boredom, I installed a new convert, called CoverterLite. Now every single video that I converted causes WMP to crash even inside the preview pane. If I were to change my default media player would that affect to preview pane as well? Or does it require so registry editing?

 

Reading Pane in Mail App Disappeared

Yesterday afternoon my mail app suddenly decided that I no longer wanted the reading pane off to the right side unless I am in full screen mode. If I open the window wider (but not full screen) it will either let me have the preview screen or the bar off to the left with the list of accounts, but not both. If I open the mail app in full screen it has both the preview pane and the ribbon on the left.
I'm sure I must have clicked something to make it do this but have no idea what. I've clicked and unclicked "show preview text" a few times and completely restarted once to no avail. What have I done and how do I fix it? I'm using a desktop PC.

Setting the Preview pane to show or hide in File Explorer will apply to all folders. If you wish to hide the Preview pane in File Explorer, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer.
• Tap on View tab.
• Click Preview Pane to view/hide it.
