Windows 10: Preview pane suddenly stopped working for some file types.

My preview pane has stopped showing the following text files PDF files and corel draw files. It only seems to work now on BMP Jpeg files.How can I fix this. The. It did work so the settings are correct. It may have stopped functioning correctly when I loaded a new version of corel draw 2017 19 had on before X7.Always show icons is OFF. Show preview handlers is ON. Please advise.Sorry I dont understand the Tag entry required . Pleas help

Windows Explorer Preview Pane Stopped Working for PDF Files

I've used the preview pane in Windows Explorer for years to preview several file types. Just last week the preview of PDF files suddenly stopped working. Instead of displaying the contents of the file, it shows a first line in a large font that says the following:
Index of C:\Users\MyName\

Below that is a long list of folders. I haven't changed any settings recently in either Windows or Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, which is my default PDF reader. The preview pane works fine for .eml, .docx and other types of files. Any ideas?

Setting the Preview pane to show or hide in File Explorer will apply to all folders. If you wish to hide the Preview pane in File Explorer, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer.
• Tap on View tab.
• Click Preview Pane to view/hide it.

Thank you so much for your reply.

What I really need to know is how get the video to play in the preview pane. Prior to Windows 10, this worked wonderfully and was an asset. Now, it requires making changes to the Windows registry - not recommended due to the enormous amount of issues with
Windows 10.

Any other suggestions?
