Windows 10: Preview plane is not working after recent update

I had an update on my computer this morning. Previous to the update my preview plane was working fine. Now it will not load. I have tried all the normal go to fixes and have not gotten it to work. I have attempted all of the following: Fix 1 – Ensure that Preview Pane is EnabledFix 2 – Enable Preview HandlersFix 3 – Turn Off Show Icon SettingsFix 4 – Modify Startup Mode For File ExplorerFix 5 – Change System Performance Mode in Advanced System SettingsFix 6 – Perform a System File Checker SFC ScanFix 7 – Reset File Explorer Settings

Preview Plane not working: in Win10 File Explorer, Excel 2016 or PowerPoint 2016

As noted above, the preview plane is NOT working in the following:

-Win10 File Explorer. Message: no preview available. I have already engaged Preview plane

-Excel 2016. Message: this file cannot be previewed because of an error in the Microsoft Excel preview.

Again, Preview plane is engaged.

-PowerPoint. Message: this file cannot be previewed because of an error in the Microsoft PowerPoint preview.

However, preview plane DOES work in Word 2016. Go figure! I have looked at properties and cannot see a difference anywhere.

Thank you for your consideration of my request. By the way, I have tried to find help on-line w/in MS and found one that referenced another, then when I tried to find that I could not, then could not return to where I left off ... : (

When you say Preview Plane are you referring to Preview Pane ?

If yes Please refer to the mentioned steps:

Please follow the steps below to enable preview pane on File Explorer.

1. Open File Explorer by clicking on the file explorer icon from the
Taskbar.

2. Click on View tab and Click on Preview Pane
option (on the upper left side).

Dear Ausha,

Thank you for taking the time to send a response to my question.

However, if you look at my question in detail, you will see that I have already done this... in all 3 programs, File Explore, Excel and PowerPoint, the
preview pane has already been "clicked" or engaged,but, there is no preview.

It is in the actual preview plane that I receive the messages that I wrote in my original question. Also, you will see that I have done likewise in Word, and it works fine, it is only the other three that have this.

If you have any further suggestions, I would appreciate it very much
