Windows 10: primary password

I have forgotten my primary password, how do I reset it without the password? Thank you

Firefox 81.0
Having an issue with the primary password. I start Firefox. I begin typing in the search box and about midway thru the primary password dialogue box pops up. I do not notice and keep typing the rest of my search which ends up in the primary password box. Is there a way to fix this?

My thought is the primary password box should start immediately start with the starting of Firefox or they should stop the auto primary password request and let me manually activate it.

Any suggestion on a remedy?

Is this Primary password for Edge or your Microsoft Account password you use to sign into Windows?

Report back results for each step so I know what else to suggest.

Primary (master) password appears to be corrupted

Perhaps these will sort things out -
1 Act as though you've forgotten it - Reset your Primary Password if you've forgotten it- Firefox Help
and then
2 Remove it - Remove Primary Password - Firefox Help

If both those steps work then it demonstrates that the corruption does not extend into the rest of Firefox so you can consider setting up a new Primary password.
If either step does not work then the corruption extends further into Firefox and I'd think that you'd have to uninstall it then reinstall it.
