Windows 10: Print Queue will NOT open

Windows 11. 22H2. 22621.2283Since last windows update, I can not open my print queues. Settings, Printers & Scanners, Printer.When I click "Open Print Queue" nothing happens. I have done a few hours of research and found nothing.I have removed all printers from system & reinstalled, NO CHANGE.I cannot open the queue using the "normal" method. Any help would be appreciated.

Print Queue Personality Configuration

I've created many plot/print queues for the convenience of our users.

• Print queue personality is set on the Print Server
• Personality settings include preset - orientation, paper size (A, B C, D, E), color/B&W, etc.

With these preset personality settings, my users don't have to go through the print configuration steps for all the different types of documents they print.

They simply select the queue and print.

Some time a while ago, the personality settings for each print queue saved on my print server are no longer the default print queue setting on the users machine after they select the print queue.

Is there some way I can automatically "push" the print queue personality settings to every client who uses the queues?

Clients - W7 & W10

Print Server OS - Server 2012

Applications used - MS Office Suite, MicroStation, BentleyView, Bluebeam, G Technology Suite

 

The print queue is full windows 10

I had this same thing happen to me.

When I tried to print I would get an error saying that the print queue was full. There were no files in the print queue. There were also no printers listed in 'Devices and Printers.'

No need to reformat! Here's how I fixed mine:

I noticed that If I opened a print dialogue, the printers were listed.

• Open Print Dialog from an app (i.e. Notepad)
• Right Click on a printer and select Printer Properties
• Open Ports tab
• Change port to 'file.'
• Delete Port
  • If you get an error that the resource is in use:
    • Open the other printer properties pages
    • Change the other printers to 'file'
    • Delete ports
  • 
    As you delete ports, you will see the print queues repopulate into device manager as well as printers should now show up in 'Devices and Printers."

  Remake the needed Ports.
  

In my case they were all HP TCP/IP Ports.

I understand that you view the print queue in list view. Please go to,

Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > View more devices > Scroll down and select More devices & printer settings > Double-click the printer you're using. You should see it in the list view now.

I suggest creating a shortcut for the printer to your desktop so you would not have to repeat those steps again if you need to access the list view print queue. Just right your printer > Create shortcut.
