Windows 10: Print Screen screenshots not saving in folder unless I hold windows key down

    Print Screen screenshots not saving in folder unless I hold windows key down


    when I hit the Print Screen button, it allows me to crop out which area of the screen I want saved.

    However, when I do this, it does not save in the folder where all my windows + print screen images go.

    Anyone know where the cropped screen shots go and if / how I could change their save folder to the windows + print screen screen shots go?

    to my knowlesge, the cropped screen shots aren't saving anywhere at all, I've looked at the local disk hard drive entirely sorting by most recently saved and nothing at all comes up when I crop.

    Win key + Print Screen SystRq not always working to take and save screenshots.

    Hello Benoy,

    To better assist you with your concern, I'd like to know the following:

    • When you press Windows key + Print Scrn SysRq, does your computer's screen somehow dim for a moment? Also, after pressing Windows key + Print Scrn SysRq and press Ctrl + V in Paint, does the screenshot appears?
    • Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:
    1. Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
    2. Click OK.
    • What is the make and model of your device?

    To save your screenshot as a file, it would depend on the key combination that will trigger to capture a screenshot and automatically save it to the Screenshots folder. Here are some examples of print screen key combination depending on the manufacturer
    of the device (Windows logo key + Ctrl + PrintScrn, or Windows logo key + Fn + PrintScrn)

    How can I get screenshots to save automatically (no Screenshots folder)?

    Thanks, Dave. I didn't need to follow fix on that page, because the solution was in the first paragraph: I wasn't holding the Windows key when hitting Print Screen (before, when screenshots were saving to OneDrive, all I had to hit was the Print Screen
    key by itself). After I hit Windows + Print Screen keys, a Screenshots folder was automatically created in my Pictures folder.

    Win key + Print Screen SystRq not always working to take and save screenshots.

    When I press Win key + Print Screen SystRq, sometimes no screenshots are getting saved to the screenshots folder. I remember when I was looking through the firefox's "show all history", I tried to take a screenshot by pressing Win key + Print Screen SystRq
    but no screenshot was saved to the folder. Why is this happening? and since I pressed Win key + Print Screen SystRq in the history page of firefox and no screenshot got saved, nothing will happen to the history items right?

    the history page of firefox will look like what's given in the below screenshot.. its a comparatively new screenshot and not the one when I pressed Win key + Print Screen SystRq and nothing happened

    Also today I pressed Win key + Print Screen SystRq and no screenshot was saved to the folder but then I opened paint and pressed ctrl+v, then the screenshot got pasted there so I guess the Print Screen SystRq works.. its just together Win key + Print Screen
    SystRq is not always working... perhaps something wrong with the win key?
