Windows 10: Printer Color Issues With Magenta

I tried asking this question already in the HP community, but they don't appear to be very active.


Recently my girlfriend's printer has started printing out colors all wrong. The align test and test prints appear normal; however, the magenta color is not printing out correctly and is in turn making other colors not come out correctly, She has already cleaned the printer heads several times, but to no avail. The Self Diagnostic Page appears to say that all the colors are "OK" and at 100%, but nothing is printing correctly. I would greatly appreciate any and all help. Thank you.

• Printer running low on ink
• Outdated printer driver
• Issue with a Color profile

Printer will not print color

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
• To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

As an initial resolution, we suggest that you run the printer troubleshooter. This is an automated tool that can
find and automatically fix some issues with your PC.

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for your interest in Windows.

• Is it a wired or wireless printer?
• Is the printer connected via network to your computer?

I suggest you to make printer as a default printer you can follow the below steps:

• Press Windows key+ X and select
  device manager.
• Select devices and printers
• Right click on the printer you want to use, and then click
  set as default printer (You'll see a check mark on the printer's icon signifying that it's now your default printer).

I suggest you to update the drivers for the printers and check if it helps.

I also recommend you to run the print troubleshooter to check the issue.
