Windows 10: Printer dialog box missing

Hi. My hard drive recently failed so I had to install a new hard drive as well as a new version of Windows. I'm running a Brother printer and I can print something using just the normal Windows printer options window that looks like this:but when I want some more options, like to choose paper source, etc., I would normally go down to the bottom and click on 'print using the printer dialog box'. I should get a window that is Brother specific. Instead, I just get this:I don't think this is a printer driver issue as I'm having the same trouble when I want to use my Foxit PDF software to print

Printer icons in print dialog boxes

After I upgraded my HP LaserJet printer two icons for the printer now appear in the print dialog boxes-a new one and an old one. Of course, you can’t print to the old one, but some of my programs default to the old one HP informs me this is a Windows 10
issue since the printer performs well.

When I check Printing Preferences for the printer, two printers appear in the drop down menu: the old one and the new one. Print Server Property lists only one driver.

How can I remove all instances of the old printer from print dialog boxes?

 

Printer preferences dialog box - corrupt or missing fonts

I am running Windos 10 on an ASUS Zenbook laptop. I have an HP printer. When I open the printer preferences dialog box, sometimes the contents is corrupt - clearly because of missing/incorrect fonts. This depends on the app from which I print: for example,
it never happens with Word and always happens with Wordpad. Reinstalling the HP device driver did not help, it seems that the problem is somewhere in the way the different apps invoke the driver, which is not consistent. I attach an image of how the dialog
box looks when it is corrupt: some text is wrong and some is missing altogether.

 

No printer dialog box

I am in a file folder and highlighting the files I want to print then clicking the print button. It immediately goes to print. No dialog box, just a box showing it is printing to the printer.
