Windows 10: printer disconnect problem

I recently had to replace my old laptop that ran on Windows 10. The new laptop that runs on Windows 11 will not stay connected to my Epson XP-7100 printer. I have to uninstall and reinstall the driver using the disc about 1/2 the time I try to print even when printing different downloaded photos without turning off the printer or computer.How do I keep the printer connected?Thanks

I suggest you to run the Printer Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

• In Search window type Troubleshooting and click on it to open it.
• Click on Hardware and Sound.
• Then click on Printer to run the troubleshooter. Follow onscreen steps.

To be sure that you followed my suggestion correctly, I will specify some steps: CP>devices and printers>add a printer>the printer that I want isn't listed>add a local printer with manual settings>define port>Windows update and install

Disconnect all the external devices ( scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc...), except mouse, printer and the keyboard.
