Windows 10: Printer does not show up in the dialog box as a choice?

When I tried to print an online bank statement as I have done for years, my printer did not show up in the dialog box; rather ONLY Microsoft PDF was listed as a printer choice, which, of course, is not a printer, but simply a file. Why does my printer suddenly no longer appear in the "choose printer" window?

No printer dialog box

I am in a file folder and highlighting the files I want to print then clicking the print button. It immediately goes to print. No dialog box, just a box showing it is printing to the printer.

 

Printer icons in print dialog boxes

After I upgraded my HP LaserJet printer two icons for the printer now appear in the print dialog boxes-a new one and an old one. Of course, you can’t print to the old one, but some of my programs default to the old one HP informs me this is a Windows 10
issue since the printer performs well.

When I check Printing Preferences for the printer, two printers appear in the drop down menu: the old one and the new one. Print Server Property lists only one driver.

How can I remove all instances of the old printer from print dialog boxes?
