Windows 10: printer driver download

I have had increasing problems using my new laptop running Windows 11 and a 3 year old Epson XP-7100 printer.I have had to turn off both devices and then turn back on. More recently I have had to remove the printer and download the driver.Now the driver will not download either from the Epson site or from the disc that came with the printer.How do I successfully download a driver and maintain the printer connection in Windows 11?

To be sure that you followed my suggestion correctly, I will specify some steps: CP>devices and printers>add a printer>the printer that I want isn't listed>add a local printer with manual settings>define port>Windows update and install

• How exactly did you try to download the drivers?
• Did you try to check if the printer driver's are shown in the device manager?

Let's try the following steps and check if it helps:

Step 1: Run Hardware and device Troubleshooter.

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar and select it.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click Hardware and device
  troubleshooter.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
• Check if issue persists.

Step 2: I suggest you to visit the manufacturer website of the printer and download and install the latest drivers and check if it helps.
