Windows 10: Printer Ink Level Status

Discus and support Printer Ink Level Status in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; Since upgrading to Windows10 from Windows7, I no longer get the printer in level status that I did before the upgrade.     Printer Ink Level Status


    Since upgrading to Windows10 from Windows7, I no longer get the printer in level status that I did before the upgrade.
    I have an Epson NX420 Stylus printer. Previously, every time something was printed, the ink level pop up screen appeared. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks.

  2. Brother Printer DCP-J525W Status Monitor

    Since installing Widows 10 the Brother Printer works fine however the Status Monitor (which shows the ink levels) on the computer states its offline and doesn't show the ink levels (shows them as empty). The ink level indicator on the touchscreen of the
    printer works fine.

    Anybody know how to get Status Monitor online?

    printer problems

    Are the inks at a good level and are they original manufacturer cartridges or refills?

    In certain cases low ink levels can make the SNMP status off line even when the printer would work. Refills often get the levels wrong.

    In the Printer Properties select Ports > Configure Ports and untick SNMP Status Enabled, OK out and see if the printer comes on line.

    Did you re-install the software for printer after the upgrade? I would look at re-installing, at a minimum the Epson Network utility v4.19. This might help the situation. Of course you may have already done this, if so ignore my post.

    Hi - yes, reinstalled the software and made sure drivers were current. Didn't make any difference.

    Hi - having tried all suggestions with no luck, as a last resort I called Epson Support. The tech had me re-download and install the most recent software but with one small change. He asked that I disconnect the USB cable until the download requested that it be connected. THAT was the secret to making it work. Sounds crazy but it's a fact.

    Actually it is not crazy. Lots of Hp products install like that. I believe Windows loads defaults as soon as it sees hardware. Then the Epson updates don't take effect. In this order the Espon stuff gets installed and then the device appears. Thanks for posting back, it will help others.

    Ditto, especially the HP part. I see that nearly every time I am called on to install a new printer, always pays to follow the brand's recommended procedure.
