Windows 10: Printer unavailable

my printer was working perfectly fine a few weeks ago. since yesterday the printer is showing unavailable. Its a HP officeJet pro 6978. any advice? thanks

Step 1: Run Hardware and device Troubleshooter.

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar and select it.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click Hardware and device
  troubleshooter.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
• Check if issue persists.

Step 2: I suggest you to visit the manufacturer website of the printer and download and install the latest drivers and check if it helps.

Driver unavailable for my Epson XP-640 printer

Printer

I have tried this and my printer doesn't allow me to do this. It gives me choices to open, scan, etc.

It says the driver is unavailable. I have checked the HP site for a driver download for Windows 10 and none is available.
