Windows 10: Printers not found message when trying to print a PDF

    Printers not found message when trying to print a PDF


    I get a Printers not found message when trying to print a PDF. I can print word documents with no problem. I am running Windows 10 and the HP printer is connected by cable to the PC. Any help will be appreciated.

    Print to PDF missing in Printer List

    Hi William,

    We suggest that you disable and re-enable the Print to PDF feature. Here are the steps:

    • Click on the Start menu and type in Windows Features.
    • Choose Turn Windows features on or off.
    • On the next window, find Microsoft Print to PDF and disable it. Click
      OK to save changes.
    • Restart your PC.
    • Repeat the same steps to re-enable Microsoft Print to PDF.
    If the issue persists, we suggest that you perform the troubleshooting steps suggested on the link below under
    Advanced:

    Fix printer problems

    Thanks for your help. I was browsing the web the other day and I found a page called FINAL DRAFT. They had a set of instructions for reinstalling the Microsoft Print to PDF utility that worked great for me. Problem solved.

    Cannot print to wireless printer or PDF since installing Windows10


    This is really frustrating and I'm wasting so much time trying to print hard copy docments or pdf's for mailing. Each attempt results in a 'not responding' message and I have to close the application. My wireless printer does not show up in devices. PDF software is included in apps lists but I still cannot print to pdf. Do I have to re-install my printer and pdf software? So far, for me, Windows 10 is not living up to its promise! Can I get some help please?
