Windows 10: Printing Error 0x8007007e

Hello. I have suddenly been having a hard time with printing. It all started with trying to print in Edge and Adobe Reader Touch. The initial error code was 0x8007007e. After researching this code in the forum, I ended up doing a copy/paste of the printconfig.dll file as described in one of the posts. I also uninstalled the printer and driver and then reinstalled as in a different post.


At this point, it appears the print problem is now restricted to Edge and Touch. After reinstalling the driver for my printer Brother MFC-J615a I was then able to print a test page. I can also now print from Chrome. Any ideas?

You may want to try with the steps listed below and check if it helps:

Method 1: Run the troubleshooter.

I would suggest you to run the troubleshooter from Microsoft to know what exactly is causing the error. To run the troubleshooter, click on
Fix printer problems.

You may also check with the Advanced troubleshooting steps mentioned in the above article.

Method 2: However, if the above suggestions doesn't help, kindly check with the answer provided by

configuration error 0x8007007e"

i have windows 10 and when I try to print a PDF file on my Epson 545WF printer, I get "configuration error 0x8007007e".

Any repair suggestions?
