  1. Prio not saving priority for application

    Hello!

I wasn't sure if this is the best place to go for this, but I started using Prio a bit ago and it seemed fine.

But when I start up valheim now, I check the priority each time, and it keeps defaulting back to Normal CPU priority, instead of high, when "save priority" is checked off. I also just noticed that it does the same thing for Vindictus

Is Prio still good / is there a better alternative?

I don't know how to troubleshoot this aside from uninstall and making sure it's updated, which I did check. Windows and Nvidia are also both updated. When researching "prio not saving changes" I didn't run across much, but I ran across Process Lasso - which might work well for me since I'm making these changes to better optimize my games?

Here is a SS of details with Vindictus running, and I can grab a SS from Valheim shortly

Can someone advise me on this situation? I would like to figure out why it isn't saving my settings, or if I should just switch to Lasso. Let me know if I can provide any information or screenshots! As always, thank you for any help.

How do I set the priority of an application?

Hi: manually: In task manager, Details view, rt click the process, set priority.
If you wished to do this without intervention you could use a program such as Process tamer which allows you to set rules.

In the following ignore the first one which is obsolete:

Hello Denis, Prio not saving priority for application :)

The command in step 2 of Option Two should show your wireless networks listed in priority order. Top of the list is higher.

Set CPU Process Priority for Applications in Windows 10

Thanks Shawn, I've just tried it and I'm not sure if that's going to do what I want. It doesn't seem to have done at any rate.

Putting this into a command prompt opens the program in high priority:
    start "" /High "C:\Program Files\LTC\LTspiceXVII\XVIIx64.exe"

but what I really want (if possible) is to be able to click random files (applicable to the program of course) and get it to open in High Priority.

The newly created shortcut following Polo's suggestion opens the program itself correctly, although unfortunately not correctly from clicking random files. If I browse for the file from within LT then its all good.

I hope these images make sense Prio not saving priority for application :) It would just be the icing on the cake to be able to do this.
