    I loaded an example to Google Drive help illustrate and troubleshoot a question that I posted to the forum. I want some of the information in the spreadsheet to be held in confidence, so I wanted to send a private message to the person who had said they would help. He replied that private messages aren't permitted. Is this in fact the case? Where are rules and guidelines of that type published?Granted that giving the link to person X doesn't guarantee that information will be held in conficence, but I believe that most folks are trustworthy. Taking a chance on one person's trustworthiness is

    Private Message Notifications

    Not a bad feature suggestion as it saves you time getting to the gist of the message. EVGA, Anandtech, and OCN has the feature on their site.

    READ BEFORE POSTING!! The Rules of this Forum

    Under Only post in a FS/FT thread if you are..., where it says:

    "3) Negotiating the price of an item you want to buy. (But this should be done through private messages.)"

    If this "should be done through private messages," then why is it listed as a legitimate reason to post in a thread? I suggest removing that unless there's a reason for it I'm not aware of.
