    Problem about RAM & Hardware reserved. Need advice.


    ASUS Laptop with 4 GB RAM (2 slot RAM with each 2 GB) but only 1.6 GB usable & 2.4 GB (Hardware reserved).
    Even i reinstal this Windows 10 x64, this Hardware reserved still 2.4 GB.
    What can i do before replace / exchange position slot memory or update BIOS ?
    I attach my Task Manager, System Information & CPU-Z

    Windows 10 ram hog

    I have recently switched from 8GB of ram to 16Gb of ram. with the 8GB it was using 4.1 GB for the hardware reserved. and with this 16GB of ram it is reporting that 8.1 GB of ram is set for hardware reserved and that is not ok with me. is there anyway I
    can adjust how much is set aside from hardware because I know that it doesn't need 8.1GB of ram. and my system ran fine with the 4.1 Gb of hardware reserved. some one please help.

    Would Gigabyte bios have anything like that? if so, then where would I be able to find it?

    Hi, some similar reports have been posted- if you search for these, ignore those related to using 32bit Windows on >4Gb RAM- that's not your situation of course.

    Noted there are differences in the last two CPU-Z reports on your RAM, which may suggest something about that in slot 2.
