Windows 10: problem activating windows 10 pro to fresh install on pc

Hi,


I bought windows legitimately in the past and got an upgrade to 10. I recently had hardware problems with my motherboard so upgraded it and moved hard drives around. I had to do a new install. I was told on the site and by support there was a way to bring my license across. It said it was a digital license and I could tie it to my account, and I tried to port it this way but it kept saying "Try again later" after selecting the win 10 pro license at the activation troubleshooter.


I then got the old hardware working temporarily to retrieve my key and remove the old pc from my MS account after speaking to Microsoft support who said I need the key. I did this and it says it cant activate on this copy of windows. I have noticed the threads of this sort ask for an upload of a readout from a command prompt command so i'm attaching it.


I have now called about 3 times and got several different answers regarding what I have to do. I don't understand why this license cant be ported, it seems very vague. Could someone please advise me how to get help having this ported? I have now tried several ways and am at a loss. Thank you very much for your help with this.

Windows 10 Activation (Insider)

How long did you wait for activation?
When I re-installed with a fresh install... it took a few hours to sync and activate.
However, it did, finally, activate.

 

Clean Windows 10 (?PRO?) install

I have bought a legit "Windows 10 Pro" key of a key website. It is legit since i'm currently using it for over a year now. I currently have Windows 10 Pro installed on my PC and I want to do a clean install. I just can't find the windows 10 Pro download in the tool. But if i could use a windows 10 pro key with a normal windows 10 install, I'll be good to go.

 

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
