Windows 10: Problem copying customized folders

This BUG is fixed in build 15019 - look at:

In the meantime Your simple "right-click" solution is pretty usable *Smile
I only had to change it a bit to make it work - had to add backslashes in front of underlined two quotes:
@="attrib +r "%1""

 

Microsoft Windows used to be so awesome when XP was being used. Then MS decided to hire crap employees, no offense to them, but true.

EZ Money Solution:
After copying folder with customization, and the customization doesn't happen, try to rebuild the icon cache: Icon Cache - Rebuild in Windows 10

Download: Rebuild_Icon_Cache.bat
Run that file.
Go back to the folder, and hopefully that fixed it. It should stay fixed permanently.

(Save that file on your computer and use it for future reference, like I have it over here)

 

This bug is definitely fixed for me since Windows 10 Creators Update.

I have 4 ssds in my computer.

I can now do a standard copy & paste of a folder ( that is marked with any of my customized icons )
to any of the sdds' and the folder keeps its icon.

I can also copy to a usb stick or portable hard drive and the icon stays too.

 

My computer is updated and I can assure everyone that as of May 5 2017, the problem is not fixed. If any one has a solution that may not be obvious, thank you in advance for posting it.

This evening a partial fix seems to have appeared on my computer: The customized icons remain when a folder is dragged and dropped from one folder to another. However it still does not work when copying a folder (icon reverts then to default one).

 

We are making progress: now when copying short cuts, the customized icons are maintained. But still not with folders.

 

A new Windows Update was downloaded today (May 9, 2017). Sadly, still no fix for this problem. I wish we could remove the update that messed everything up last year. Would anyone know how to do this?
