Windows 10: Problem downloading Win 11 iso

I am trying to dl the iso to a blank 14.4GB thumb drive. The dl gets to 4GB then stops. It tells me that there isn't enough space. What? Not enough space on a 14.4GB drive with only 4GB downloaded? Can someone explain that?Drive shows 4GB used and 10.4GB free space.Thumb drive was empty and formatted before all attempts.I tried dl to my C: drive and copy/paste to the thumb drive with the same result.

Since I am currently able to open this site and download the Windows 11 ISO file normally in my test machine, in order to further troubleshoot if there is some limitation on your device or a problem with your network, currently, I would like to suggest you try the following troubleshooting steps.

1. Please try to access the above website using your phone and mobile data to see if you can access and download the Windows 11 ISO file. If you are able to access the website from your phone, then it is possible that your computer has some limitations in accessing the website, and you can transfer the Windows 11 ISO file downloaded from your phone back to your computer and perform the operation you want to achieve.



2. In order to check if there is a problem with the network your computer is using, you can also try connecting directly to your phone's hotspot and then check if you are able to access the above website. The following network troubleshooting steps you can also try.

Change DNS

• Click Windows+R and type ncpa.cpl
  
• Click on the name of the network you are currently connected to, open the Network Status window, click Properties, and double-click Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) in the Network Properties window.
  
• Manually set the DNS servers to "4.2.2.1" and "4.2.2.2" and restart the computer to see if the problem is solved.
  

Reset Network

• Search for CMD, open and find the Command Prompt (Run as Administrator)

win 11 update problem

I suggest you try to use the Windows 11 ISO to overwrite the installation to ensure that the system is complete.

Please go to: https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/win... to download the ISO file, double-click to mount it and run Setup.exe.

You can choose to overwrite the installation and keep your files, this will not erase your data. But I suggest you back up all your important data.

 

Power Off and reboot

Thank you for your suggestion. I ran a WIN 11 update a few days ago prior to posting my problem online. It didn't help the issue. Question - the WIN 11 upgrade process did not include these steps I see in the link you sent to me. Should that concern me?

1. Select which media you want to use:
   
   Select ISO file then save the ISO file to your PC specifically on your desktop.
   
2. Once done downloading the ISO, kindly right-click on ISO then click Mount> then Click Setup.exe
