Problem: Have to restart programs when connecting bluetooth Headphone.

I didn't know where to put this, or what kind of problem this is.
I have a pair of Bluetooth headphones and an ASUS bluetooth USB adapter.
When I turn on the Bluetooth headset, I have to manually go into the Sound settings and change the "Default" to the Asus Adapter.
Though ZId love to know if there is a fix to this, it's easy enough to live with. The thing I cant stand though, is when I do switch any default device in the Sound settings, I also have to close all programs that were open when making the switch. Otherwise, the programs (like iTunes and Media Player Classic) will contiue coming out of the computer speakers, or whatever the previous default was. Ive only had the ASUS Bluetooth adapter, and havent been able to try another adapter, but I have used different bluetooth Headsets/Headphones, and they all react the same. The program also exhibited on Windows 7, so I doubt its OS specific.
Is there any way to fix this, because this is absolutely annoying.

    :)

  2. Bluetooth Connection results in Blue Screen Error?

I have a pair of bluetooth headphones. They connect to my computer fine, and I can usually reconnect them if the headphones have been idle for a long time. There is a problem that exists once I turn the headphones off.

When I turn the bluetooth headphones off, it is extremely difficult to reconnect. The headphones will be "paired" and start connecting, but they will never finish connecting. When bluetooth devices do this, I usually click "Remove device." But after a while
of trying to remove it, I will get the message "Driver Error" and the bluetooth headphones will stay listed under bluetooth devices. (I then go to device manager and try to uninstall the headphones from there, but it just loads and loads and
    will not uninstall).

The only way for this to stop is to restart the computer. However, the computer gets stuck restarting. I then get a blue screen, with a message along the lines off "Driver_Power_State_Failure." After restarting, the headphones disappear from the list of
    devices and connect.

This has happened at least five times. I only get the blue screen if I restart after the bluetooth driver error message. I don't have any other bluetooth devices to test with to see if it is the headphone's fault.

  3. Bluetooth Pairing does not work with Windows 10 Computer crashes and has to restart when trying to pair Kernel Auto Boost Lock Aquisition with Raised IRQL

I have the exact same problem when trying to connect my bluetooth headphones. They work the first time then after disconnecting and reconnecting my headphones the pc crashes.

    The message I get is:

Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you (% complete)

If you would like to know more, you can search online later for this error:

    KERNEL_AUTO_BOOST_LOCK_ACQUISTION_WITH_RAISED_IRQL

I found that uninstalling and reinstalling the bluetooth dongle driver will allow me to connect my headphones. But once I disconnect them and reconnect them the pc crashes again. It continues crashing every time I try to connect the headphones until I uninstall
    and reinstall the driver again.

Problem: Have to restart programs when connecting bluetooth Headphone.

Did you ever find an answer? I just found this post and I'm having the exact issue. And agreed; very annoying.

Edit: Just found this page on reddit. It works! Swich the audio playback in iTunes to Direct Sound rather than Windows Audio.
