Windows 10: Problem Moving Music Folder to D: Data drive

I was trying to move the Music folder Library? from the C drive to the D drive. I went to Music, Properties, Location and selected Move as instructed but when I selected a target of the Music folder I just created on the D drive it gave a warning about Child/Parent or something and selected the D: as target. Now the D drive looks like a Music folder and when I type "%userprofile%" to look at the libraries, it shows DATA D: with a disk icon. I don't want to designate the root of D as Music, but a sub folder called music. I also need to have my Documents, Videos and Pictures re-directed to

Moving data files to the D:\drive confusion!

I moved the Data files Contacts, Documents etc. to the D:\ drive using the Properties > Location > Move method and Office Word etc. in Options > Save show that the Save destination is D:\Users\username\Documents which is as it should be BUT which of the duplicated folders as I also made the changes in Windows > Settings > Storage method which seem to have duplicated the folders and I now have two folders in D:\Users\username\ for Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures and Videos presumably moved there by the Windows > Settings > Storage these folders do not have an icon just a plain folder picture and I assume they are the ones from theWindows > Settings > Storage method.

1. What did I do wrong to get duplicate folders?
2. Which folders will be used when I finally save work to?
3. Can the duplicate folders without the icons be deleted or would there be issues?

The screenshot is not from the actual pc but just to demonstrate how in actually shows in the other pc as I can't get to the actual pc just yet. No data has been saved as yet as the Office 365 applications have not been used yet.

 

Turned Hard Drive into Music folder

• Create a folder on the D drive and name it 'Music'
• Move all the files and folders that should be in the Music folder into this new folder
• Then in Quick Access, right click the Windows Music Library, select Properties
• Then on the location Tab, set its location to the new 'Music' folder
• When asked if you want to merge contents - Select 'No'
• Click 'Apply' and 'OK'

If you want you can leave the music folder on the D Drive, or you can then click 'Restore Default' to move it back onto the C Drive

If needs be for the Documents folder, you can perform the same operation by creating a new Documents folder on the D Drive

NOTE: the important step is (5) do not merge the contents . . .

 

Music folder location problem - moving between SSD and HDD hardrives

I thought it would be easy to move the main music folder (C:User\*name*\Music) from the SSD drive C to the HDD drive D. Here's what I did: right click on Music Folder > properties > location and I set it to 'D:' I clicked yes in the dialogue box and everything inside the music folder (which was just iTunes files but no music files) moved to D: but the actual music folder is not there. When I right click on the music folder now and look at properties it shows me properties for D: instead. I can't move anything back to how it was as I get an error message saying "music failed to build the list of regular subdirectories."

I want the music folder to be on my HDD drive 'DATA (D' so I can import all my music from an old hardrive but I want everything to remain organised as it normally is rather than creating new folders. What is the easiest way to do this in my current situation.
