Windows 10: problem regarding First time Windows activation

I bought Windows and installed on my new PC, entered the product key while installation. After installation, These error messages are shown in' Activate' settings Page. It shows "We can’t activate Windows on this device because you don’t have a valid digital license or product key. Go to the store to buy genuine Windows. Error code: 0xC004C003 ".

I tried change Product key option and re-enter the product key. It shows same error. Although there is a note at the bottom of the Page stating. the last Product key ID: *** you entered cant be used on this copy of windows.


The ID in the Brackets didn't match Product ID above.
Windows 10 Pro


Any Solutions?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

I suggest you to activate the copy of Windows 10 via phone by following the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “slui 4” and press Enter.
• Select your Region/Country.
• Select the Phone Activation option, and hold on for a real person.

Windows 7 not genuine problem

It seems like that's an OEM windows copy, it will do that the every time you reinstall the OS. If you have the key, next time you see the "not genuine windows copy" click it and choose to activate by phone, everything else is pretty straight forward as it explains step-by-step. If it doesn't work, then its highly likely that you got a Pirate copy.
