    Problem Resizing Recovery Partition

I am getting the error: "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: 0x80070643"From all the resources I have found this requires me to increase the size of my recovery partition. After going through the steps to do that I end up with unallocated space that is not adjacent to the recovery partition RP. I have used partition wizard to try to rearrange the partitions so that I could extend or merge the RP with the unallocated space, but there are two other partiti

  2. Manually resize partition for KB5034441 not increasing recovery partition

After encountering the KB5034441 update error I decided to use the following support article to increase the size of my windows recovery partition:

KB5028997: Instructions to manually resize your partition to install the WinRE update

I have followed the steps as described however my Recovery partition does not get any larger.

    I have:

    • disabled WinRE (not seen in the screenshot)
    • Shrunk the C drive partition (not seen in the screenshot but you can see the 250MB free space on the disk) in the first list disk call
    • deleted the previous Recovery partiton with 506MB
    • Created a new Recovery partition with attributes and formatted it

But having completed all the steps my Recovery partition is still 506MB and the free space hasn't been reallocated so the update continues to fail.

    See my screenshot:

I saw in a (timestamp 4:11) that if the C drive partition is not next to the Recovery partition then there are extra things that need to be done but I do not understand them.

Can someone help guide me through?

PS I don't actually know what the purpose of partition 3 is. In disk management it is called EFI System Partition so I assume it is necessary and I have worked around it.

  3. Resizing the Recovery partition

I think that NavyLCDR's suggestion is the best idea. Once you have deleted those two partitions, you could simply expand C: to incorporate that space that was freed by the deletion of those partitions.

    Resizing the Recovery partition

I recently restored a 1 /12 year old Macrium image that had seven OS related partitions

I removed the redundant recovery partitions and extended the OS partition to incorporate the leftover empty space

I don't know what accounted for the size discrepancy, compared to the others, at the time that 874mb partition was created, but since it was the latest recovery partition, that's the reason I retained it in favor of the earlier ones. Everything seem to be working ok, but that partition has 365.5mb free space. Is there any harm shaving all or part of that free space off?
