    Problem Resuming From Idle

Hello! Something of a difficult issue to explain, but I'll do my best.

Within the last week, my computer has begun acting strangely when I leave it idle for what was normally enough time to go to sleep.

When I return from leaving it unattended, the screen is still on not asleep, displaying everything exactly as I had left it. When I try to interact with anything on screen, the responses to my inputs are extremely sluggish, if they happen at all. Another interesting problem is that neither my task manager shortcut ctrl+shift+esc nor the ctrl+alt+delete shortcut work no response in either case. Additionally, mousing over the collapsed taskbar does not cause it to pop up as normal.

I have a feeling it is a problem with the PC entering sleep mode only halfway. I say this because when I press the power button to force it to sleep, it briefly flashes my lock screen, then goes to sleep. When I wake it again, it shows the lock screen as normal, I am able to unlock using my pin, and then it displays my desktop correctly, except everything is still barely if at all interactable. The only thing I have found that solves this issue is a hard power cycle. Even then, this issue occurs every time I leave my PC unattended for the time required for my PC to go to sleep.

I would prefer if my PC went to sleep as it used to when left idle, so any fix that eliminates the problem by setting sleep to "never" is a non-starter. Thank you for your help in advance!

    :)

    Bluetooth still on while idle

Thanks for following the steps. Now, the settings won't take effect if you are only using normal PC idle mode. Normal functionality of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings are to stay connected even if PC is idle. With the settings that you have created, we would
suggest that you set your PC to automatically go to Sleep or
    Hibernate
once idle. In this way, the settings "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" should take effect.

To set your PC to automatically go to Sleep or Hibernate when idle, please follow these steps:

    • Open Control Panel, set view by: Small
      icons.
    • Look for Power Options.
    • Click on Change when the computer sleeps on the left pane.
    • Set a timer.

Please try it out. Hope it helps. If you have any other concerns, don't hesitate to come back to us.

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
    a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
    b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

    System idle process spike

Although you may have a problem that is causing fps drops, "System Idle Process" isn't what's causing it.

When "CPU usage" for System Idle Process is high, that means that your CPU is not doing much useful work.

    Idle, noun:

    • not working or active; unemployed; doing nothing: idle workers.
    • not spent or filled with activity: idle hours.
When System Idle Process shows as 30%, what's taking up the majority of the rest of the CPU cycles? That's probably the source of the problem.
