Windows 10: Problem sharing Wifi from Host Win10Pro machine through ethernet to Client Win10Pro machine

I'm working from home on my home system and I recently brought a new WorkPC home. I've connected my WorkPC Client to my home PC Host with a Cat6 cable.


I did this for two reasons. 1st so that I could continue to access both computers with the same peripherals, and 2nd so that I could access my wifi network through my Host PC. The Host wifi adapter has great range and signal strength. My Client PC has a built in adapter with almost no signal strength.


So I've connected both PCs. I can remote desktop into the Client from the Host and vice versa. I've set my wifi adapter to share with PCs on my network, but the Client couldn't make a connection to the internet.


I troubleshot this off and on for several days. On two occasions I was able to get a connection to my wifi..but it didn't seem to be related to anything specific I had done.


Consistently both PCs have been unable to identify the ethernet network, and I get the error message


"Network" doesn't have a valid IP configuration


I have a Broadcom 802.11ac Network Adapter on my Host PC


I'm using an IntelR I211 Gigabit Network Connection with a Cat6 cable


The Host PC is using standard Windows security with all recommended settings and the Client is using Kapersky. I didn't set up the security on my Client PC.


how do I get resolution. I feel like I'm missing something after following a dozen troubleshooting suggestions.

Does win10pro support hosting virtual machines?

Maybe I missed something in the installation but when I open up Hyper-V Manager (HVM) I don't see w way to create or connect a virtual machine. The only thing I find is ways to "Connect to a Server" and if I try to connect to the win10pro machine (Jupiter),
I get this error from HVM:



If Win 10 pro does support hosting virtual machines will someone point me to the MSDN (or equivalent) how to page? If it does not then let me know that so I can mark a major disappointment mark in this "upgrade" and I'll have to resort to a dual boot system
to add IOT development ability to my workstation.

 

Clean install of Win10Pro on machine previously running Win10Home

Unfortunately, that doesn't answer my question. My situation is slightly different - I had a Win10Home installation and purchased a new Win10Pro OEM key (not an upgrade). I would like to use that key to install Windows 10 Pro on the same machine by doing
a fresh install - this is NOT an upgrade, and my understanding is that the key I purchased cannot be used for upgrading. So I need to know if I wipe out my current install of Win10Home and do a new, clean install with the Win10Pro key I purchased, will it
work correctly?

How to actively close a file sharing connection on the client machine

I am NOT sitting on the machine hosting the shared folder, I am using another machine to simply access this shared folder on the hosting machine. When I m done, the connection always remain open for the duration of the uptime of the client machine and I
dont want to have to log out or restart the client machine to close the connection down.

How can I ACTIVELY close my own file sharing sessions towards the other machine that is hosting the shared resource without having to reboot or log out?
