    Here's the thing:

    I have a multi card reader which has been working fine until the Anniversary Update. Now, when I insert an SD card, Windows doesn't show the card mounted. It remains as a hidden object which can only be viewed when I activate the "show hidden items" thing. Before the big update, every time I inserted a SD card, is popped up as a new drive (as th USB pen drives do).

    Any clue?

    New Dell came with Windows 10, internal SD card reader only shows up sometimes

    I have a Dell Inspiron 15 that came with Windows 10 installed and has an internal SD card reader. When I insert my SD card, often it will not show up on explorer or "this PC" or "OS C:".

    Same problem with my internal DVD drive, but I finally got it mapped.

    How do I get Windows to recognize my SD card reader consisitently???

    SD card is not recognized when you wake up the computer in Bootcamp windows 10.

    Consider the following scenario:

    • You have a computer that is running Windows 10, with BootCamp at Macbook Air.
    • You connect an SD card reader together with the hardware.
    When you insert an SD card into the SD card reader, the SD card cannot be recognized in one of the following scenarios:

    • Immediately after you wake the computer from sleep mode.
    • The computer does not go to sleep but the SD card reader is idle for a long time without an SD card inserted.

    There's apparently a fix for issues with SD cards in 1607 in the latest Cumulative Update.
    Cumulative Update KB3189866 Windows 10 build 14393.187
