Windows 10: Problem with Aerial Bold always showing in Italic

    Problem with Aerial Bold always showing in Italic


    Having a problem with Fonts in Windows 10 that I can not resolve.


    All instances in browsers and applications where I have info displayed in the Aerial Bold font are now showing only in Aerial Bold Italic. Can toggle to view Aerial regular OK, and Aerial italic. However, when I try to view anything in Aerial Bold, it shows only as Aerial Bold Italic.


    Not sure what has caused this to happen. Prior to today, can not recall making any changes to my system, downloading or installing anything. It just happened upon log-in today.


    Tried:


    o System reboot - does not solve

    o All settings > Personalization > Fonts > Aerial > Uninstall in attempt to uninstall, then reinstall - would not allow me to uninstall the Aerial Font indicating that it is a system font.

    o Windows > Control Panel > Fonts > Font Settings > Restore default font settings - Did not solve.


    Research indicates this to be a periodic problem in prior Windows Systems. The resolution was often deleting and reinstalling the font. However, Windows 10 will not allow this to happen.


    Anyone have a solution?

    how to underline text & change it to BOLD italic in notepad?

    notepad is limited in what it can do, you can make a word bold and italic by -

    double click on the word (to select it)

    select format from the menu, then font

    choose a bold italic font from the lists.

    as far as I know underline is not an option in notepad.

    wordpad has more functionality, (click start and type wordpad).

    select the word or phrase and use the following shortcuts ctrl+u (underline), ctrl+b (bold), ctrl+i (italic) or use the icons on the home ribbon.

    Hi all,

    I use MS Edge because of its speed. Problem: in some forums, the Bold and Italic command buttons (on the forum page) don't work. I must manually insert ...... and ..... tags. They work for other forum members who use Windows 10 and Edge. The
    Emoticons don't work either. The Bold and Italic command buttons work on this forum.

    MS Edge is nowhere in the Category dialog area later on this page. It was a wild guess as to where to post this!!!!!!!!!! Fix it!

    To emphasise a c/pd sentence in Notepad, I'd like to underline it & print it in BOLD italic.
