  1. Problem with Audio

I may not explain this very well, so please bear with me: If I click on the speaker icon on my taskbar and adjust the volume, I have to set this to at least 80% to get a reasonable volume. If I set this as low as 28% I can barely hear it. This has been the case for some time now. And my hearing is fine! If I go into Settings / Ease of Access / Audio / Sound Settings I get a Troubleshoot option. Clicking this, I can choose to Open Audio Enhancements, which opens a Speaker / Headphone Properties box AND an option to Play Test Sounds box. Playing the test sounds gives me the same as above (okay at 80%, barely audible at 28%). But when I go into the Speakers / Headphones Properties and do a sound test (Advanced tab, 24 bit 48,000 HZ (Studio Quality), the volume is much louder at 28% and I can hear it clearly. So my speakers seem to be working okay, but something isn't. Can anyone advise how to resolve this? The speakers are Realtek Audio

    :)

Step 1. Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10.

    Step 2. Select Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand the entry Sound and Audio devices. Right-click the problematic device and select Uninstall device.

Step 4. You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.

    Step 5. Reboot the computer.

Repeat the steps in all the Audio devices listed.

Then reboot. then test the headset again.
