Windows 10: Problem with automatic IPv4 association DHCP

I'm having internet connection problems: The automatic IPv4 assignment is not working, so I don't have internet access, my computer can only access it when I manually assign an IPv4 address to it on windows, only reserving an IP on router does not work. List of things I've tried so far:- I reinstalled Windows;- I reset network settings multiple times;- I reset the router to factory settings;- I checked the network card drivers, they are the latest versions according to windows; - I tried uninstalling the network card and reinstalling it;- I tried using commands like: ipconfig /release and ipco

Disable IPv4 from automatically being changed

Hello. I want to prevent the IPv4 address from automatically being changed.

I tried the following:

• This tutorial by Port Forward.
  
  After completing it, I receive the
  following fix for the error → According to the error, it disables DHCP for "Ethernet".
  
• This tutorial by Windows Tech Info.
• This tutorial by Notebook for Programmers.

My goal is to prevent from IPv4 to automatically change.

 

5800 Wlan IPv4 settings: How to switch back to DHCP/automatic configuration

Hi,



I am using custom (however the name is on english, in german it is "Benutzerdefiniert") IPv4 settings for

my home wlan on my Nokia 5800. Now I installed a DHCP server and want to switch the settings back to

DHCP on the 5800. Unfortunately I can only change the IP addresses, but not set the configuration to

automatic again. How do I do that?



Any hints will be appreciated

The DHCP Server service terminated without a valid clue

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol): Every device on TCP/IP needs unique IP address to access the network. DHCP controls the allotment of IP addresses. However, if
you can access internet, DHCP should work fine. But if there is some issue with the internet, you can follow these steps and resolve the DHCP error.

I suggest you to follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows and
   R key together on your Keyboard.
   
2. Type Control and hit enter.
   
3. Click on Network and internet > click on Change adapter settings
   on the left pane.
   

4. Right click on the Ethernet connection you are using and select properties.


5. Select Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPV4) and click on properties.


6. Check the following radio boxes:

• Obtain an IP address automatically
• Obtain DNS server address automatically

7. Now windows 10 will retrieve the IP address automatically.
