Windows 10: Problem with Blue Icicle following recent Windows update

I'm running Win 10, fully patched, on a desktop system. I've had one of the Blue Icicle USB-to-XLR converters for years to allow use of a studio microphone with the PC and it's always worked fine.


Until about 2 weeks ago, that is.


Apparently a new driver was applied date says 7/17/2020 and now the output volume is extremely low, even with the gain turned up to full and input volume set to 100% in the device properties. The driver is provided by Microsoft and the version shows 10.0.18362.997. The device is basically unusable due to the change, and I've tested it on 2 different systems same driver with identical results.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
