Discus and support problem with Brightness, mouse movment and performance in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I was playing a game and suddenly it turned off and then i found my laptop to be at full brightness , i tried lowering it down but it was still at full...     I was playing a game and suddenly it turned off and then i found my laptop to be at full brightness , i tried lowering it down but it was still at full brightness , i looked up and i disabled my driver and then enabled it but nothing happened so i uninstalled it and reinstalled it and the brightness problem is fixed, tried to open the a game again and it closed again after a while , i updated the driver but when i did that the brightness problem came back + the mouse movment is way slower than it used to be , i looked for updates for the windows and i found nothing.

    Brightness Control not working in Windows 10

    Hi Ella,

    To adjust the brightness, see the steps below:

    • Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
    • See if you can adjust the brightness.

    If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.

  3. Issues with brightness and mouse

    Hi Austin,

    I realize the inconvenience that you are facing with Windows 10 and will certainly help you.

    Before assisting you further, I request to provide information on the following questions:


    • Could you tell the make and model of the system?

    • In which game does the issue persist?

    • Does the issue persist while pressing Alt + Tab keys without playing the game?
    However I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if it helps:

    Method 1: Perform all
    Windows updates (Including all pending updates)

    Note: Start Icon >
    Settings
    > Update and Security >
    Windows update > check for updates


    Method 2: Running the troubleshooter will help in detecting and identifying the issue and in certain cases will fix to enhance the performance of the system. I suggest
    you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.


    • Press Windows
      logo key on the keyboard, type troubleshooter and select the top most search result.

    • Click on View all
      from left side panel of the screen.

    • Select Hardware and Devices,
      click on Advanced option and check Apply repairs automatically
      option.

    • Follow the on screen instructions and wait for the troubleshooter to complete.

    • Check for the errors displayed, close the troubleshooter window and check if the changes are effective.
    Method 3: Install and use
    Microsoft Basic Display adapter.

    Please follow the steps given here to update the drivers:


    • Press Windows +X key on the keyboard.

    • Select Device Manager.

    • Find and Display adapter and expand it.

    • Right-click the Display adapter drivers, and click Update driver software.

    • In the resulting interface menu, select
      Browse my computer for driver software.

    • Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

    • Under the Show compatible hardware menu, select
      Microsoft Basic Display Adapter from the list.

    • Select Next to continue.

    • And also update the graphic driver from Device Manager.
    Windows will automatically install the selected driver and then it will return to normal. Restart the computer and check if it helps.

    Method 4: Update the device driver from Device manager by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.


    • Press Window logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
      Device manager from the context menu.

    • Expand Mice and other pointing devices for mouse drivers.

    • Right click on the driver and select
      Update this software option from the context menu.

    • Follow the on-screen instruction and wait for the update to complete.

    • After the update is complete, check if the changes are effective.

    Brightness Problem

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your response in Microsoft Community.

    I understand your concern, and we in Community will try to find the best possible resolution to your problem.

    I would suggest that you perform the steps below and check if it helps your issue:

    Step 1: Graphic Properties

    • Right click on the desktop, and select “Graphic Properties”.
    • Choose your desired “Mode”.
    • Once you have chosen your mode, on the left pane locate and select “Color Enhancement”
    • Adjust your brightness and check if it helps.

    Step 2: Un-install the Graphics driver.

    • Click on the Start button, and type “Device Manager” on the search bar.
    • Open Device Manager, expand "Display Adapters”.
    • Find and double-click Display Adapters from the left panel to uninstall.
    • Right-click the device, and click Uninstall.
    • Windows will prompt you to confirm the device’s removal. Click
      OK
      to remove the driver.
    • After the uninstallation is complete, reboot your computer.
    • After you have successfully uninstalled the driver, please go to the computer manufacturer’s website, download the Windows 10 Graphics driver for your computer and check.
