Windows 10: Problem with clicking on the sound icon

Hello I am using Windows 11 Home Version 24H2. PC is working on asus tuf game f15. When I click on the sound icon from the bottom right, the notebook freezes for 1 second. The mouse does not move. The same problem existed in the previous version 23h2. All updates have been made. But the problem persists. When I searched the forums, I read that many people have this problem. Does anyone know a solution? Or can it be fixed with an update?

I understand your concern and would suggest you to check with any other headphones to make sure there is no issues with headphones.

I would also suggest you to update the Sound drivers and check if that helps. Here is the steps:

• Press “Windows + X” and select Device manger.
• Locate the sound driver and expand the driver icon.
• Right click on the driver icon and click on Update.

We need to investigate further so that we can identify the cause of the issue. We suggest running the Troubleshooter and see if it helps. Follow the steps below:

• Type and select Troubleshooting on the Search bar/Cortana.
• Click Hardware and Sound.
• Select Playing Audio under Sound.
• Follow the steps that will be provided.

If the steps does not work. We suggest downloading a fresh copy of the audio driver from Realtek and see if it helps.

I got no sound microsoft or horrible sound

• Are you getting any error message?
• Have you installed all the pending Windows updates?
