    Problem with COM Ports Code 45


    I am using software from Uniden to add frequencies to my Uniden Scanner. My problem is the first time I programmed frequencies it was fine. Now it is saying that port COM 5 does not exist and will not connect to my scanner. I went into the control panel to find the issue, and it says that, "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. Code 45." Now the hardware device assuming it is talking about the scanner is plugged in. However I lost the original charger that it came with when I first plugged into my computer. I am using a new wire that I bought. I do not believe

    Thank you for the update. If you've done the steps on the link provided on the previous response, we suggest contacting your device for a hardware diagnostics and have your chipsets updated to help resolve error codes 43 and 45.

    USB Composite Device Code 45

    Hello, lately I have been having problems with the USB ports of the left side of my laptop not working correctly. Anything plugged into these ports will not work, but if plugged into the port on the right side the device will work regardless of which device
    I plug in (mouse or headphones). I have tried the following:

    • Restarting my computer
    • Making sure everything is enabled in BIOS
    • Running the troubleshooter for hardware and devices

    And in the device manager I have tried:

    • Updating everything under Universal Serial Bus controllers
    • Uninstalling everything under Universal Serial Bus controllers and then restarting the computer
    • Made sure everything is enabled

    However, in the device manager, if I view hidden devices a second USB Composite Device appears but the symbol for it is grayed out. When I click on properties it says this in the details:

    "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

    To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

    I have tried uninstalling and updating this device but nothing will work, and I have a feeling this is what is preventing my USB ports from working correctly. I have been searching online for fixes but cant seem to find anything else I have not tried at
    this point.

    Full error message

    Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. To fix the problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer. (Code 45)

    Cause

    This error occurs if a device that was previously connected to the computer is no longer connected. To resolve this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

    Recommended solution

    No solution is necessary. This error code is only used to indicate the disconnected status of the device and does not require a solution. The error code is automatically resolved when you connect the associated device to the computer.

    Follow the steps that I recommend, I hope and it works
