Windows 10: Problem with controller on Windows 10

Hello, I am having a problem using controllers on my PC for a month now, after some tests I found that the problem is with the joy.cpl on Device & Printers, if I plug my controller on my PC, it will install the controller and when I open the Joy.cpl to check if the buttons are working it will work fine, but if I unplug my controller and plug it back again and try again to open the Joy.cpl, it won't open anymore, either it won't open or it will take 5 minutes to open every time I try to open it.


I think the problem might be with the "controller recognition" or something from Windows, when you unplug the controller that Controller icon on Device & Printers still there but grayed out (the icon disappears from there if it's a 360 controller) and the problem happens exactly when I plug the controller back and the controller icon from there "recognize" my controller, if I leave my controller plugged on my machine the whole time it won't have a problem, but as soon I unplug and plug it back the Joy.cpl breaks, with that in mind I can't use my Wireless Adapter with my Xbox One controller because everytime the controllers tuns off Windows acts like if it was unplugged and when I turn my controller on again it will breaks the joy.cpl and it won't open anymore.


I tried with Xbox One controller, Xbox One Elite, PS4 and Xbox 360 controllers, all of them have the same issue, so it's not a controller problem, I tried a clean Windows 10 install to see if it fix, it didn't fixed, but since I downloaded the Windows from Microsoft if the problem is with windows, clean reinstall won't help. I thought it could be my motherboard, but if it was my motherboard, my Mouse and Keyboard both USB wouldn't work as well, but even if I unplug then and plug back, they work without any problem, so the only issue is with the controller and the joy.cpl on Device & Printers.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
