Windows 10: Problem with DELL S3220DGF after PC upgrade.

Hello, after upgrade from i7-7700 on Ryzen 5 5600x I have one annoying problem on my monitor.... When i turn on my PC my refresh rate will change on 120 from 164Hz and screen is little bit blury but if I reset my monitor (turn off and then on) I can set 164Hz or if I unplug Displayport and then plug in back same situation, again I can set 164Hz... I tried Windows reinstall, drivers reinstal, monitor drivers but nothing helps... Everytime I must restart my monitor... But before upgrade there was no problem + I changed only CPU, GPU I still have. Windows before 2004 and now i have 20H2.

Someone can help me?

Tweaking the DELL

Having attempted to upgrade at least 3 Dell boxes, I'll give you step-by step "upgrade" instructions:

Unlatching the heatsink but don't pull it off.
Place a brick on the heatsink so it stays put.
Boot the computer,
Run Prime 95 and SuperPi (32M)
While those are running, grab the brick and whack the heatsink off
Watch the chip explode

Buy a new compter - that's your upgrade *Big Grin

Video card or RAM need upgrading?

Memtest: no errors after 10 hrs.
I'm going to perform the Primetest, later on. Get back to you on that.
I'm going to take it step by step, guys. I need to find the problem with this current computer. I might have to upgrade some components, so that it is still runnable. As for the new one, yes....i will build on it later. I need to find something decent 'gaming experience', all suggestions appreciated. THanks.

 

How to Dump Networking Parameters?


Had a customer with this problem, they had a brand new Dell Optiplex 3050, with Windows 10 1709, and Realtek Gbit Family of lan adapters (wired connection). After much troubleshooting (many suggestions listed in the course of this thread), it turned out the PC needed a bios update. Among the updates listed on the dell website for bios version 1.52 (I flashed it with the latest 1.92) was "Update RealtekLOM".

LOM is "lan on motherboard" and the Realtek has flashable firmware.

One step for others having this issue is to check their computer manufacturer's website for "Lom" firmware updates for the particular network adapter - whether integrated or an add-in.
